The 6-minute match-day plan
Four steps. Challenge, Pay, Roll Call, Verify. Here is what a real Sunday looks like when the admin gets out of the way.
Sunday 6:14 PM
Keisha captains a side out of Marabella. She opens the app on the bus home from work. There is a team in Diego Martin she has been wanting to play for two months. She finds them, taps Challenge, picks Queen’s Park Savannah for Sunday 9am, and sets the match fee at TT$150 a head.
Six taps. The challenge is sent.
Step 1 - Challenge
The other captain gets a push notification. He has 24 hours to accept or it expires. He accepts. The match is locked in. Both teams now see the same fixture card. Same kick-off, same ground, same fee.
This is the moment the WhatsApp archaeology dies. There is one source of truth and it is on both phones.
Step 2 - Pay
The app pings every baller on both rosters. TT$150 each. They pay in the app. The money sits in escrow. Keisha can see at a glance: 11 of 14 paid. Two more taps to send a reminder to the stragglers. By Saturday night it is 14 of 14.
Total in escrow for the match: TT$2,100 per side. TT$400 of that goes to the referee. TT$800 covers the pitch booking. The rest covers water, cones, bibs, and a small deposit toward next week.
Nobody is chasing anybody. Keisha has not sent a single “yo, the fee” message all week.
Step 3 - Roll Call
Sunday 8:45am at the Savannah. Each player opens the app at the ground and taps in. Roll call goes 14 of 14. The ref sees both rosters confirmed on his own screen and knows the match is on. If somebody no-shows, the captain marks it and the slot opens for a sub from the bench list.
This is the bit that used to take 25 minutes of “where is Marcus” before kick-off. Now it takes two.
Step 4 - Verify
Final whistle. 3-1 to Marabella. Keisha enters the score and the goal scorers. The opposing captain gets the entry on his phone and signs off. The ref signs off. Three taps from three people.
The second that third sign-off lands:
- The ref’s TT$400 hits his account
- The ground owner’s TT$800 hits theirs
- The win goes on both teams’ records
- Every baller’s Scout Card updates with the match, the goals, the assists, the clean sheet
The whole admin: six minutes
Across the week. Not per day - across the whole week. Six minutes of taps replacing what used to be six hours of chasing.
That is the entire pitch. Show up Sunday, play, go home. The record is straight before you leave the ground.
